Monsters!
Our costume shop opened this week in dramatic arts. The kids can try on different costumes, "purchase" them, and make costume sketches. It has been fun and entertaining to watch!
We traced spooky objects in the fine motor center.
We built monster glyphs. This was our 1st glyph and they will be displayed in the hall. Bean Bag Toss!

I Spy a Fun Week!
Taste Testing

Some of them had to make a quick run to the bathroom after tasting the baking chocolate. I told them to take a small bite!
This week at my table, I gave each child a cup of food. They had to taste it and decide if it is sweet, salty, bitter, or sour. Then they had to put a picture of the food on their taste testing graph. I laughed all day watching the kids eat items like red bell peppers, baking chocolate, and drinking lemon juice. Here are a few funny pictures of them working hard.Monday, October 5, 2009
Oh the Adventures!
This week was a mixture of a lot of fun activities. We introduced senses in the science center, read a lot of rhyming books during whole group, and we are still studying fairy tales with Mrs. Robinson.
After reading the book the Magic Stick, we went on the nature trail behind the school and searched for our perfect magic stick. We then drew a picture of what our magic stick could be used for, glued the magic stick on our paper (Mrs. Williams used her special teacher glue that really stunk up the room the entire day), and then we dictated to Mrs. Williams what our magic stick was used for. Our fabulous art work and writing is displayed in the art center!
