Children's Museum

Last week we had a blast at the Children's Museum in Greenville. We made a movie of our trip, but it was too big to upload. We hope you enjoy some of the pictures instead.

Snow Days!

It was great to be back at school after a week of enjoying the snow! The snow arrived at a great time, right when we're studying winter! Each kid brought in a white snack and we graphed to see what was the most popular white snack! Powered donuts were the winner!
We enjoyed picking 2 white snacks to eat! (There was so much to choose from, I think we'll be having white snacks next week!)

We had fun creating a snowman using items we brought from home. I know they'll look great on our bulletin board. Next week, we're writing a story about our snowman.

This week there were 30 Tootsie Rolls in the jar.

Happy New Year!

We started the New Year with fun! We used water colors to add details to our pictures.
We explored "snow" (white rice) in the science center.

In the blocks center we have had fun building race car tracks.

We're working hard to get ready for 1st grade; it's only a few months away! With this in mind, we're playing handwriting games.

This week was our 1st week estimating. Every week, we have a new jar with candy to estimate. We have the entire week to make an estimate. On Friday, we count the objects. The person who correctly estimates or is the closest, gets to take home the jar of candy. If we try to estimate, we get to taste a piece of the candy.

We've enjoyed learning how to work in the listening center. It replaced the fine motor center.

Sharing our journals with the class has been exciting.

Catching Up! Way Up!

We ended 2010 with a bang! One of their favorite centers was Santa's Workshop. They had such much fun building toys.

In the writing center, they sorted pictures by their beginning letter sound.

After each country we studied we enjoyed eating a food from that country.

We also enjoyed celebrating birthdays! (It was also Mrs. Robinson's birthday!)

We had fun learning how to use our word building sticks.
Our marble work's designs continue to get better.

In home living, we've had fun decorating for Christmas.

We had a great time learning to play an addition and subtraction game.

Their favorite center this week was blocks because they were able to build a train track.
