Do you think we'll catch the leprechaun?

Our home project this month was to create a trap to catch the tricky leprechaun! We loved sharing our ideas with the class and testing them out during centers. Everyone had such AWESOME and CREATIVE ideas! (I still have more trap pictures to post!)

Center Fun!

Can you see the robot and it's big remote control?
Wow! Look at our animal tower! It did make a loud crash when it fell!
Gears! Gears! and More Gears!
Writing our high frequency words on Magna Doodle boards. Look at all the words we have to read and write before we go to 1st grade!

Writing a grocery list in the grocery store center

We worked with our partner to read tell a story using the story wheel.

We were the 1st group to put all the animal words together. We're a proud group! Can't you tell!

To work with simple addition, we read the book Quack and Count. We then created our own addition problems using ducks as counters. Our favorite part was holding 2 Pringle's Chips with our lips to create a duck's bill. We'll never look at chips in the same way. We then made it into a class book.
We traced shamrocks and covered them with gold glitter to hang in our tree outside the classroom. Some of us went a little crazy with the glitter and glue! We also ate yummy shamrock cookies.

Dr. Suess and Animals!

This picture didn't turn out too well. It's all of us wearing our Dr. Seuss hats that we created in the art center.
Sorting animals by mammals or if they lay eggs
if they lay eggs we had to put the picture of the animal in an egg and then we had to draw and label mammals

We opened up our Big Book Reading Center this week. We loved using puppets and pointers to retell a story!

We had to read Dr. Seuss books and tally the number of times we read our HF words that were listed on the sheet

Playing the math game 5 3-d shapes in a row

A Week of Animal Fun!

Adding and subtracting with math mats

We had to create a bird using specific shapes. We had to follow written directions in order to build our bird.

We had to sort animal and insect pictures and make a pattern in the math center.

After 2 days of all working together, we were able to complete the jungle puzzle!

Putting together the 100 piece jungle puzzle

We had to pick an animal card to help us complete the sentence. We then had to copy the sentence and add the correct punctuation.

Animal Homes

We've been building animal habitats in the blocks center.
