Last week we celebrated Thanksgiving by having a delicious feast in our classroom. We each set the table, practiced our table manners and enjoyed sharing family traditions and what we were thankful for. It was a moment to remember!

50th Day Celebration!
I must admit, I was a little nervous about having a 50th Day of School Celebration because I wasn’t sure if the kids would grasp the concept. I should’ve known better! These kids amaze me everyday!
Our class is so lucky to have a real-life artifact from the 50s, Mrs. Robinson! (I will be in the doghouse if she ever reads this!)
She brought in some of her records and albums and explained how a record player works.
The kids had as much fun as Mrs. Robinson did, dancing!
In the fine motor center, we covered a poodle with 50 pieces of frosted cereal.
We put together a 50 piece puzzle.
After seeing a slideshow, on comparing the 50s to the present, and Mrs. Robinson explaining what a telephone “party line” was (that was a new one for me), she read a few Dick and Jane stories.
We played “Roll to 50” and made 50 tally marks in the math center.
We ended our day by completing the science experiment “Will ice cream sink or float in a coke float?” (We used orange drink instead of coke.)
We made our predictions, drew them and then found out that the ice cream will float!
All of our wonderful kindergarten teachers! Ravenel is such a great place to work!
