Pumpkin Carving! Action!

Our class voted to have a scary jack-o-lantern. We practiced using descriptive words as we cleaned out the pumpkin. We then roasted the pumpkin seeds and ate them with our snack. Many of us agreed that we like the store cooked pumpkin seeds better.

Fall Festival Basket

This past Saturday was our school's Fall Festival. Each class created a basket for the Silent Auction. It's a great fundraiser for our school. Thank you parents for your time and donations! Our basket brought in $50! A special thanks to Mrs. Durham for putting the basket together.

Farm City Field Trip!

Our field trip to West-Oak's Farm Days was a blast! Take a look at the fun we had! We started the morning by waiting for the bus to arrive. There were 3 different grades going on a field trip, so we had to make sure we were getting on the correct bus!
There's no better way to charm kids than by giving them a free bracelet!

We loved the beekeeper!

We met a young boy who just started raising chickens. He let us pet them.
Every kid needs their picture made with recycling bottles!

Oh yes!! I stepped out of my comfort zone and MILKED a COW! It was an experience I will never forget!

We were able to pick out our very own pumpkin!

How many pumpkins on top?

We ended the day with a hayride!

More Monsters!

We had fun making our Green Monster Pancakes! Check out the building of our monsters in the Monster Pancake Movies post!

We traced our foot to make the body of a dragon. We had to be great listeners to create the other parts of the dragon.

Wild Thing I'll Eat You Up, I Love You So!

After our field trip on Friday, we created our very own Wild Thing! To make our Wild Thing we tore our painted finger paint paper to create the body. We then used scrape paper to create the face, arms, and legs.

Monsters!

Our costume shop opened this week in dramatic arts. The kids can try on different costumes, "purchase" them, and make costume sketches. It has been fun and entertaining to watch!
We traced spooky objects in the fine motor center.

We built monster glyphs. This was our 1st glyph and they will be displayed in the hall.

Baker made a surprise visit to the class. I think she was a little overwhelmed by all the love!

Go get'em cowboys!

We spent the week with Mrs. Robinson building Big Green Monster windsocks. It's added a little spookiness to the room.

A very nice witch

We did a GREAT job creating real and make-believe patterns in the math center!

In the writing center, we sorted real and make-believe pictures. We then had to match the word to the picture and write the words.

Bean Bag Toss!

Well..it was another week of no recess due to all the rain. We didn't let that stop us from getting a little rowdy! We had a bean bag toss! Yes..ceiling tiles were knocked out of place, but it sure was fun working on using directional words! Can your child identify his left and right?

Special Music Selection!

We enjoyed Drew playing his harmonic for us. We had to use our sense of earring to guess which song he played. We guessed it! It was Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

I Spy a Fun Week!

We loved using our 5 senses to cook popcorn and eat it!

Using our sense of sight to find patterns in a book

We used our sense of sight to find these butterflies in the "grass".

These was our last week of retelling fairy tales in dramatic arts.

We always find a fun project to work on in the fine motor center.

We used our sense of touch and sight to sort coins in the math center.
