Magnetized!!

The week before Spring Break we started our unit of study on magnets. Each of our centers had a task for us to complete using magnets.
We enjoyed using magnetic pattern blocks and using a magnetic abacus to solve subtraction problems.

Our building in the blocks' center is becoming more extravagant. We also built with magnetic blocks.
At Mrs. Williams' table we learned how to play the telephone game. We would call our friend and they would have to give us a high frequency word to spell.

4 in a row! We practice coin identification and used magnetic counters to mark our spot.

We practiced taking turns and sharing as we learned to play Candy Land.

We are still loving our new listening center. We now have a choice to listen to a book on tape or our songs. We love having a choice.

Our class has really become a group of authors! We LOVE writing and illustrating books to read to the class. In the writing center, we have a bucket on prepare books to choose from and we become writers. We really love to build our own book in the art center.

In art we took the week to cut, paint, glitter, and glue an egg headband.

In the writing center, we had to build works and decide if they were real or make believe. Some of the words were really tough!

At Mrs. Williams' table we completed a science experiment, testing which magnet would hold the most paper clips.

With Mrs. Robinson, we created Marble Magic Paintings.

In games and puzzles we had to put together magnetic puzzles.

In the science center we explored different types of magnets. Our favorite were the Knex blocks.
