To prepare for our school wide celebration of art, Artist on the Green, our class completed different art projects this week. Mrs. Robinson brought in her homemade quilts. We read a story about quilt making.

We also designed our own quilt square for our class quilt. (It was a paper quilt.)

In the science center, we observed how wood can change forms after sanding it. Mrs. Robinson also shared some of her wood carvings.

In the art center, we finger painted a large picture and named it. They look beautiful in our classroom art gallery.

In the math center we created different pictures using pattern blocks. Each sheet had a different set of patterns. For each pattern, we had to use a different number of blocks. It was as challenge!

In the writing center, we created greeting cards using stamps.

We used a magnify glass to observe the wood shavings and wood.

Wow! What a neat project! They came up with this idea on their own.
