It always seems like 4 day weeks are the hardest! The week of Valentine's is always wild, even more than Christmas, but the kids still worked hard and had a fun week!
I think all the sugar was hitting them in these pictures! They enjoyed a delicious and tasty Valentine's Day Party. Their favorite part was opening their Valentine's Day mailboxes and reading all their Valentines. Thank you parents for all your donations for our party. I did hear it was a success! (I was home sick on Thursday and missed all the celebrating!)
Tracing hearts in the art center
We learned to paint and draw hearts.
We used candy hearts to estimate and find the area of 2 different size hearts. We also found out the fastest way to count a large number of objects is to group them in groups of 10!
This group has really enjoyed building with straws in the block center. Their designs are getting bigger and better each week!
These are our word sticks. We use them to build rhyming words. It helps us see that only the beginning letter(s) changes.
This project took all week! We had to match the hearts. One half had a letter, the other half had a picture. We had to match the beginning letter to the picture and spell all the words to match each picture.
