We spent most of the week “polishing” up on following procedures, classroom and school-wide rules. This was our 1st week of completing a teacher-directed task in centers. We did a fabulous job!
In the writing center we played the game, Spin the Letter. We had to trace the letter the spinner landed on. We then practice writing our letters.
In the art center, we learned “a dot of glue does a lot!”. Our favorite part was covering our dots of glue with glitter!
In the math center we measured different objects, using unifix cubes. Then we recorded how long each object was. We had fun celebrating 2 birthdays! These girls were born on the same day!
In the game center we learned how to play dominoes!
In math we also played a shape trace game. We had to use the spinner to see what shape to trace and then spin to see what color we had to trace with. It was difficult to follow a 2-step process!
Using tweezers to sort “pom-poms” by color
We had our 1st Tiger Cub of the Week and we really enjoyed interviewing our classmate, during our “talk show”.
This Friday was our 1st time having free choice centers. The Smartboard was a very popular center!
